You get what you pay for and I should have known better. Shame on me. The center insert that the router mounts to is flimsy plastic and it is sitting almost 1/6 inch low in the middle with respect to the ends of the table, obviously being pulled down by the weight of the router. It has levellers but then it’s too high and you can’t slide wood across it without it getting caught up. Most inserts are either metal or phenolic but for some reason they used plastic on this, obviously to make it cheap. But that also makes it bow down.
If you want any level of precision this router table is effectively useless. Get something that isn’t plastic/MDF. I will be returning it.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Cheaply made mastercrap tool. It was inexpensive. Think of it as disposable and you won't be disappointed.

Turns Wood Into Art (and Maybe Mild Fear)

The Mastercraft 9.5A Router & Table isn’t just a tool, it’s an experience. Fire it up, and you’ll swear it’s trying to communicate in Morse code through sheer horsepower. This thing doesn’t hum, it growls like it’s hungry for wood and bad decisions.
Setup was easy, and once I started routing, I realized I’d entered the woodworking big leagues. Edges? Perfect. Corners? Obliterated into smooth, buttery glory. I’ve seen less precision in a surgeon’s hands. It’s so powerful, I half expected it to apply for its own business license.
Safety goggles are mandatory, not because it’s dangerous, but because it’ll make you cry tears of joy watching it work. My projects have never looked better, and my garage has never sounded scarier.
Bottom line: This Router doesn’t just shape wood, it shapes character. Buy it, use it responsibly, and prepare to question why you ever settled for sandpaper and prayer.

A: Here are the dimensions of the plate: 304mm (11.97” )x 203mm (8”). Note that the dimensions of the plate will not affect the operation. Please refer to pages 28 to 29 of the manual for router compatibility of other non-Mastercraft models.

A: The router mounting plate is not aluminum. It is a high-strength plastic plate in the top of MDF tabletop. The router is mounted under the plate.
