Worked for me

Had 16 ten-year-old rusty screws to remove in order to re-deck my utility trailer. Vice-grip on a regular screwdriver didn't work at all. This tool loosened them all easily, no bit problems, worked like a charm. This isn't a tool I need every day, but when it is needed it's Really Useful.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Gets the job done but not high-quality

It does work well removing totally seized 08 Honda Civic brake rotor screws. Just twist tool as you strike it. As others have stated, the bits are junk and will break. PH3 (large philips) broke after 4 uses or so. It comes with a socket adapter, and they allowed me a Maximum PH3 socket bit as warranty replacement instead of the same price 4-pc. set of original cheap bits. After two more uses, the bits now fit in the tool very loosely - a tiny clip must have fallen out. If so, obviously lost forever. Lastly, you have to twist tool so it needs a better grip shape not just smooth round grip. So while this thing works, the overall quality is low for the price even tho at first it seems like good quality.

Yes, I recommend this product.

#3 Philips head Broke on First couple wacks

The #3 Philips head Broke on First couple wacks with a hammer... I was luckily able to finish the job that I was working on with another bit that I had and was able to make worth from a Ratchet set. The product it self does the job. But I would recommend better quality bits. Will exchange for one with new bits.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works good

Used it afew times now but trying to pull some screws out of a dirt bike engine I ended up braking one of the bits apart you would think for something that you are going to be hitting with a hammer the bits would be able to take the abuse

Yes, I recommend this product.

bits

This impact driver works great but why wouldn't you sell replacement bits for it? I was at the essex store and the staff wouldn't even try to find the driver let alone replacement bits.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: I bought this impact driver today. However, the 3/8" adaptor bit will not come out of the black 3/8" adaptor (the adaptor bit was in the adaptor when I opened the box), meaning I cannot use any of the included bits. How do you remove the adaptor bit?

1 Answer
  • A: Normally the bit can be removed from the adaptor by hand. If you cannot pull it out directly, the vendor suggests that you can use tools like pliers to assist the removal. If this does not work, we suggest returning it to you local store as it may be defective.

Q: Purchased the 058-9304-8 Impact Driver to loosen stubbern fasteners. The written instructions indicate to turn the adjustment "clockwise" to loosen when handle pointing toward you. The image is the opposite. Which do I follow? With thanks.

1 Answer
  • A: Please see vendor's reply: The instruction on characters and image is right.counter-clockwise is right way to looseen. in our instruction, we say "push in the adaptor and turn it in clockwise direction in order to lock the mechanism" is for adapter. after place the blade on the screw, need to apply pressure in a counter-clockwise direction then hit the end of the impact driver with a hammer to loosen the nut. it's in accordance with the image.

Q: I have owned this tool for over 25 years, originanly purchased to maintain a 1979 Honda CR125R which I still own. I am very happy with this product. I am not trying to claim a warranty replacement. The tips were broken in a scrap yard many years ago, and I do not have the parts to exchange. I would simply like to purchase new tips. Do you have a product code for the #2 and #3 Phillips tips ?

1 Answer
  • A: We sell these in a pack, 058-9395.
