MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.

THIS IS THE SECOND ONE THAT I RETURNED. THEY DIDN'T HOLD A CHARGE FOR VERY LONG. I ONLY USED THE FLASHLIGHT IN MY BASEMENT FOR A FEW SECONDS AT A TIME.
ONCE I REMOVED IT FROM THE BOX I GAVE I A FULL CHARGE.AFTER A FEW DAYS THE LIGHT ONLY LASTED A FEW DAYS THEN I DIDN'T LIGHT ONE DAY. THE LIGHT DIDN'T SLOWLY FADE AND THEN DIE.SO I SWITCHED TO A ENERGIZER FLASHLIGHT WHICH CME WITH 6 DOUBLE BATTERIES AND SO FAR SO GOOD.

Q: How do you open the back cap. If I remember right, there is a trick to it.

A: It should be a simple matter of unscrewing the cap, but the last one I bought, it was so tight that I couldn't get it loose. I took it back to CT to exchange it, and found several others on the shelf were just as tight. If you have a hair dryer, try heating the cap to see if that will break it loose. These are great lights - I have 3 of them!

Q: The photos on the website shows the charging cable as well as the AC charger but the charger is actually not included. I am not sure what ac charger is needed and if i can get it at Canadian tire. I think it is not the same as for smartphones.

A: You can use a USB cable plugged into either a USB phone charger or a USB port on your computer. You can also get a charger that will plug into a cigar lighter in your car. I would think that CT has these in stock and they are fairly cheap.

A: 037-9954-0, 10W LED spotlight, after full charge, the run time: High light: around 2 hours Low light: around 4 hours. Charging time is around 6 hours.

A: 10W LED spotlight, charging time is around 6 hours, when charging, the charging LED indicator will glow RED while charging is in progress, when battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn to Green.

A: Please find the following charging instructions which have included in the instruction manual. 1. Unscrew the bac cap 2. insert the USB cable into the micro USB socket and plug the other end of the cable into a USB AC charger socket (not included) or a 12V USB cigarette charger socket (not included) to charge the light. The charging LED indicator will glow RED while charging is in progress. 3. The battery will be fully charged after approximately 6 hours 4. When the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will turn to GREEN when charging has completed, disconnect the USB cable from the light, remove the adaptor from the wall socket or USB cigarette charger socket, switch off and put back the back cap. The battery should be recharged every 3 months, which will help extend battery life. The USB cable is for re-charging only.

Q: what type of battery lith -ion or lead acid ? does it hold a charge in -40 for weeks at a time without charging and still be BRIGHT ?

A: It is a built-in 3.7V 2200mAH Lithium battery. After each use, we suggest to recharge the battery in order to keep the battery performance, and recharge the battery every three months to keep battery life. If fully charged the battery and put the spotlight in “-20°C” temperature condition for weeks, it can still be bright with half battery level. The factory needs some time to test in -40°C and will advise what the outcome would be.
