Great, economical die grinder

We have not had long enough to talk to the durability of this die grinder, but so far it has been great. We purchased for wood carving using burrs. Seems to have plenty of power to hog out maple and walnut. I’ve also had the chance to use with a carbide cutter and metal with no issues.

If I was a pro. working in a garrage? I would get something stronger!

Q: Will this tool work with a 2" or 3" cut-off wheel - too much vibration? The features section of this tool state: ... max grinding bit diameter of 1" Is this tool able to handle a 2" or 3" cut-off wheel, or will it vibrate too much due to centripal/centrifugal force if the wheel or arbor are not perfectly balanced.

A: For the Mastercraft 4.5A Die Grinder, we do not recommend the use of a cut-off wheel that exceeds 2 3/16” (55mm). If the customer uses a cut-off wheel bigger than the recommended size then it can cause excessive vibration or can overload the tool.
