Broke 3 other 18” riveters before buying this one. Was very skeptical but pleasantly surprised at how easily this one handled the 1/4” Stainless steel rivets. I am super happy with this unit

Q: I own this, and it does a great job. However, the left over piece does not fall into the container, it stays stuck in the mandrel. Every time. What am I doing wrong here?

A: I'm updating my question to include my own answer. Stainless steel rivets work perfectly fine, every time. With aluminum rivets, the hard steel mandrel crushes the stem of the rivet and bites into it, preventing it from falling into the container.

Q: How is this used for rivet nuts? Does it come with the threaded attachments or are they sold seperately? Does the owner's manual provide any explanation?

A: No, the rivet nut tool is completely different. Blind rivets and rivet nuts are not the same, blind rivets are smooth and require a middle shaft to be pulled into the gun which then "pops" off into the gun reservoir. Rivet nuts are screwed onto the rivet nut gun, and the gun compresses the rivet nut to grip the metal, you then unscrew the gun shaft from the nut.

A: Depends more on the length of the shank of the plastic rivet. Does not work with the plastic rivets for Jeep fenders as the shank is not long enough to engage the teeth inside the tool.

A: That is precisely what I thought! Thanks for the response. Too bad it wasn't made in Taiwan instead. I don't want to buy Chinese made items but it is hard to find some tools made elsewhere! Pretty sad times, these could be made in North America.

A: I'm updating my question to include my own answer. Stainless steel rivets work perfectly fine, every time. With aluminum rivets, the hard steel mandrel crushes the stem of the rivet and bites into it, preventing it from falling into the container.

Q: How is this used for rivet nuts? Does it come with the threaded attachments or are they sold seperately? Does the owner's manual provide any explanation?

Q: WILL THIS DO PLASTIC RIVETS

A: Depends more on the length of the shank of the plastic rivet. Does not work with the plastic rivets for Jeep fenders as the shank is not long enough to engage the teeth inside the tool.

Q: My son completly too the gun apart need to know how it goes back together there are 3 metal wedges not sue were or how they go together

Q: Can I use this with stainless steel rivets?

A: Yes, the added leverage will help greatly with stainless

A: That is precisely what I thought! Thanks for the response. Too bad it wasn't made in Taiwan instead. I don't want to buy Chinese made items but it is hard to find some tools made elsewhere! Pretty sad times, these could be made in North America.

Q: Can this tool be used with cross nuts (plus nuts)?

A: No this will only do rivets.
