Built from durable cast iron with a powder-coated finish, it offers corrosion resistance and excellent heat distribution for long-lasting performance. Featuring thermal overload protection, the sump pump switches off before the motor overheats, ensuring longevity. This sump pump is easy to install and maintain, and includes a 10-foot (3-meter) power cord for convenient placement.

This pump works great and is keeping my basement dry. BUT, there was a problem setting it up. I wanted to use the existing hose and backflow valve off my previous Mastercraft pump, nominally the same for both pumps but the old thread was smaller than the new outlet threading. I ended up having to epoxy it in place and now it works fine. Just a heads up to check fitting sizes first.

Better then my old pump.

Simple drop in the sump hole and plug it in, attach the hose with a clamp and away you go. Set it and forget it. What's not to love. My old pump had the ball inside a bubble. I always had to check it to be sure it was doing its job. Sometimes I would have to jiggle it a bit with a long road to get it to turn on or turn off. So this new one has the float on a straight rod and when the water starts to fill the sump hole the float rises to the preset level and the pump turns on and evacuates the water until it drops to the bottom and the float lowers and shuts off the pump till the next time the water comes back up. Perfect. No more jiggling!

A: There was already a check valve in the line for the pump I replaced with this one; however I actually think the pump has a built-in check valve, so you wouldn't need one. You would need to check to be sure

Q: what is the horizontal distance that this sump pump can pump water

A: Centrifugal pumps have limited head (vertical) distance of that they can pump (say 10-15 ft). Horizontal with no back pressure it would be 50-100 ft if the pipe is big and the flow rate low.

Q: What is the minimum water level before pump will turn on? If the pump float is set to the minimum water level, will the pump burn-out from continuos use, and if not, how much water will typically remain in sump basin once the pump shuts down?
