Excellent Pool Pump

Bough this to drain the pool at the end of the season - worked flawlessly. Ditch the garden hose connector and buy an adaptor for a standard 1 ½ inch backwash hose from your local pool store and use that instead (just unscrew the adaptor it comes with). The garden hose hook up will take you forever, while the backwash hose will make quick work of draining the water level to below the return jets.

Handy and mighty utility pump to have. Fits into tighter spaces than submersible pumps with a float switch. Purchased a 2nd one because very satisfied with the 1st one and wanted a spare in case one of my other pumps quits in an emergency.
Used in my sump pit when the risk of flooding is very high to back up my 2 sump pumps when they are overwhelmed by water pouring into my sump pit with torrential rainfalls. A garden hose can be used to empty the discharge into a sink if the sewers are not overwhelmed, or put through a window to empty far away from your foundation and away from your neighbours.
The only drawbacks of these types of pumps are that there is no on/off switch and that there is no float switch to shut off the pump when the water level falls too low to pump. I added an on/off connector at the end of the plug on mine so I don't have to unplug/plug the pump as water levels change. There is built-in thermal overload protection to protect the motor but I still monitor water levels closely to avoid the pump from eventually being damaged by being repeatedly overheated when there is not enough water to pump and keep the pump cool.

A: We use it to pump lake water with no problem. A lawn sprinkler should be no problem, you just need a fitting for the outlet.

A: I have pumped out a 10 foot deep, 32 feet round pond and 75 feet horizontally with no trouble. I've had this pump for 2 years and mis-used it in mud and gravel, yet it is still going strong. I don't recommend that treatment, but it is my experience. I like the larger intake slots, too. Great Pump!

Q: Need submersible water pump that can live in rain barrel and attach to garden hose to our garden irrigation system. Home water pump has adequate pressure for our irrigation system: it is 1/2 hp, 30 psi, 900 g/h. Will this pump give similar pressure/vol?

Q: we have this pump but the flow rate has dropped considerable since first used... we have noticed that water sprays out of a little square projection just behind the hose connection... is this normal?

A: No , it's not normal. Remove the outlet hose, 2inch connector. Check bottom of pump ensure that it is free of any obstructions. Pump should operate with no load. If this works then outlet hose maybe blocked, good luck.

A: Hi there, At 6' of lift, through 1-1/2" pipe the pump will do 170 liters per minute. Through a 3/4" garden hose, about 1/2 of that. Thanks
