A: We use a short extension cord to plug in. Also we don't crank the heat up all the way, adjust it gradually. We use it to roast ribs and beef brisket which don't need a lot of heat. 200 to 250 F. It also takes time to get back to temperature if you constantly open the lid.

Q: For this electric bbq, is it easy to take apart to clean the pan under the cooking grids? And is that pan easy to clean (is it metal?) and what about the heating element - does it need to be cleaned?

A: Hello Dianne,
Yes, this grill is relatively easy to clean. All you will need is some warm soapy water. This will not cause damage to the heating element. Enjoy your grill!

Q: Is there space to put Lava Rock over the element to retain heat when opening the grill to check and/or flip food.

A: Hello Chuck,
No, the element is pretty close to the cooking grids to give off as much heat as possible to the food. There is also a possibility the rocks could damage the element.
