Avoid Masterchef products

Do yourself a favour and avoid Masterchef products. Purchased a BBQ that was defective out of the box. Customer service was terrible, so ignore their false messages replying to posts. All smoke and mirrors. Reply to review comment from BBQ GURU: I have already contacted support@masterchefbbqs.com and they claim to just be about warranty and that they are unable to help with other issues. No further details provided for who to contact, so I'm stuck. To customers, don't believe these false replies pretending to help. I will delete, if they do end up helping.

I haven’t had it long enough to review operation. Out of the box my feeling is that it should come with a cover not cost you another $80 after you own it. Design issue: It rained hard the first night. Water runs around over the lid profiles and in through the heat dissipation vents to collect on the inside of the grill and whatever you might be storing inside it ..! Light metal, remains to be seen how quickly rust shows up.

Q: The griddle top is loose, moves around easily and appears to be missing nuts underneath as if it wasn't assembled properly. This came out pre-assembled, so not an error on our assembly. Did anyone else have this issue?

A: I have this same issue, right out of the box. If you look at the screws holding the griddle in place (under the griddle from the back) there may be some nuts missing (as it was for me). Apparently Masterchef knows that this issue exists, and has a fix for it, but still continued to sell faulty units. They are sending a bracket kit that is supposed to resolve this, but hasn't arrived yet

A: No, definitely not cast iron. The griddle may be cast iron but the lid etc are just the usual metal used for barbecues. It's a decent barbecue. The griddle part is hard to season though.

Q: Not super happy with the griddle after using it twice. It doesn't seem to drain forwards and my BBQ is level. Any suggestions?

A: As in restaurants I use a spatula to bring it towards the drain....I don't find a problem doing it this way. You can also put the back wheels on something to raise it a bit so it tilts to the front but remember your catch tray will also be on an angle..up to you but I would just scrape it to the hole.

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The Master Chef CT 5 Burner Grill would be able to accommodate a beer can chicken, you would need to remove the warming rack. The clearance between the cooking grates and the lid is ~9.2 - 9.5". Hope this helps!

No, the Master Chef Grill and Griddle is only offered in this propane or natural gas fuel combination with a grill side and a griddle side, and is not available in any other fuel source combination such as pellet, charcoal, or electric. Master Chef does offer a stand alone pellet grill with a large 20lb hopper.
