idéal pour le géocaching

je l'ai acheté l'an passé et je ne regrette pas mon achat. Il est précis et il n'y a pas de problème si tu l'échappe dans un trou d'eau. par contre il peut être un peu long à charger si tu as beaucoup de point d'intérêts d'enregistré dedans.

Not A Terrible Purchase

I bought the Magellan eXplorist GC GPS specifically for Geocaching and while it has served me well for the past year or so, I am still not one hundred percent satisfied. My number one issue with this device is that it eats up batteries like nobodies business but still it does what it is designed to do. I've had no trouble finding any Geocache that I've set out to find and being able to send co-ordinates straight to the device is a huge advantage. If you are looking for a device simply for Geocaching, you can't go wrong with this model. However, if you plan to do more with it, I'd keep searching.

J'ai acheté ce produit à l'automne 2011 et je fais du géocaching régulièrement et je suis très satisfaite. Il est précis, facile d'utilisation, facile à lire même en plein jour. J'ai deux enfants de moins de 5 ans et ils me l'ont déjà échappé quelques fois par terre et pas de problème ni pour les coups ni pour la pluie. Je l'ai acheté en spécial à 120$ et c'est un très bon investissement pour un loisir gratuit à l'année.

Great for first time user Geocaching

Finding this to be a great little unit for the geocaching we are doing. Had it for almost a year and it is still performing well. The compass moves around a lot so would not recommend it for that use.
Battery life is great as we use the lithium ones. Would recommend it to other geocachers. Easy downloading files. When traveling just use your usb port in the vehicle, save on battery life.

Not a good buy

I bought the Magellan eXplorist GC GPS and Compass and it was not a good device. I bought it mainly just for geo caching and it didn't turn on 90% of the time. I would press the power button and it would freeze somewhere halfway between on and off and I wouldn't be able to turn it off. I would have to take the batteries out and put them back in and try again to turn it on.
I tried downloading geo caching coordinates but the gps wouldn't allow me to download them.
I do not recommend this machine. Instead of keeping this I returned it and got a Garmin Etrex 20 which is a very good machine.
No, I do not recommend this product.

A: Not as a car GPS, but good for Geocaching from a vehicle as it has most maps.

A: The user does not require a premium membership to use the GPS. The GPS will function 100% out of the box. The premium membership is a service offered by geocaching.com that allows the user to access enhanced content and features from their site / database.
