Great Mop/Vacuum Huge Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Roomba is far superior to my other Roomba. I have used the mop and vacuum feature on my tile floor. The time is about 1000sqft and it did a great job. When filling up the water tank for the first time I thought this amount of water will only make it through one clean but it barely made a dent in the water reservoir. My previous rumba would bang into walls and furniture but this new one will sense the items and avoid them. My favorite feature on the app is the spot clean. I have two little children that are always making messes and to have this spot. Lean ability is a lifesaver. Overall I would recommend this to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My overall experience with roomba plus was positive, the best feature is the auto wash dock basically just cleans on its on. The charging was very easy once plugged in and the maintenance process is what helps with not wasting time. As you can see it left my floors super clean and I was able to set it where it cleaned at a certain time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a very very smart little helper. I couldnt have gotten this at a better time mom of 3 one being a newborn and a deployed spouse so I'm keeping up with the house alone. The mapping took a couple of tries before I was satisfied. Now that I am satisfied with the mapping we have used our robot everyday since. Its a little noisy but 1 i don't mind noise if it is working amazing and 2 is not as noisy as others I have. The robot is also pretty massive but because of its capabilities it makes sense. It can get over alot of items. This thing can literally off road. If you are satisfied with carpet lines after cleaning. THIS MACHINE WILL DO IT!!!! I love that factor. It is also very detailed and will not go over carpet if its mopping. Like I said SO SMART!! it will happily let you know if it gets stuck or sucked up an item that shouldn't be vacuumed. I do like the control from my app as well. The things I didnt like besides how hard it was to map my home was it has sooooo much trouble finding its base. I wish I understood why put itll pass it by 10 times before even trying to dock snd when it goes to dock it looks like its trying to parallel park with how often it goes in and out. Its crazy. But overall I loveeeee our little helper it has been making my life sooo much easier.

  • A: After further review, according to ChatGPT: The 75-day number is an estimate of how long you can go without manually emptying the dock’s dust and debris bag under typical use. This is based on a cleaning schedule like once per week — your actual mileage will vary depending on pet hair, dirt levels, and how often the robot runs. After about 75 days: The dock’s debris bag will be close to full and will need to be emptied/replaced. It won’t stop working — it just won’t hold much more dirt until you do that. Mop pad washing and drying will continue as normal — the 75-day spec is specifically about the dust/debris capacity and not the washing function. The 75-day figure is an estimate — if your home is very dusty or has pets, you’ll probably need to empty the bag sooner; if it’s cleaner, you might stretch it longer. It’s based on average weekly use — more frequent runs will fill the bag faster.

  • A: We have a dog that she’d like crazy. The iRobot® Roomba® Plus 4020 has a small basket and picks up some (very little) dog hair but has trouble automatically ejecting it into the base unit.  1. We sweep up as much hair as possible.  2. I have to pause the robot every few minutes to remove any hair in the robot catch basket and the section to the basket.  I don’t mind as I rather empty the robot catch basket before it gets to the base unit as the base unit uses disposible vacuume bag that is very small and expensive.  Note: There is a iRobot made specifically for pet hair but it was not available when we purchased our unit.

Q: Is this the same model as the 405? Canadian tire just get its own model number?

  • A: This answer was direct from iRobot. I understand you picked up a new robot from Canadian Tire. You bought it thinking that it was the new Roomba 405, but it was the model 4020. Let me help you with this. No worries, you are right, the model Roomba 4020 is the same as Roomba 405, Canadian Tire is one of the authorized resellers, and they only change the model of the robot as a retailer. It is the same robot, same performance, same accessories, the only difference is the model number. That is the reason why you cannot find information related to 4020, only the 405. Actually, they have all the specifications of the Roomba 405 on their website
