Great Robot Vacuum

I have owned a number of Roomba vacuums over the last 20 years. I have been pleased with all of them. They have of course improved and this one does a better job at cleaning and is easier to empty and clean the heads after a run. The app works well.

Forgot to mention in last review My dog is petrified of vacuums stresses her out so bad I feel bad vacuuming she has to go outside. So I was hesitant about that but she just layed on the couch watching it and fell to sleep. Even more worth buying . Cat is kinda creeped out but that’s just funny.

I just got one this morning after hesitating for months. All I can say is don’t delay it will pay. I love it it does the work it’s fun to watch if your boring like me, and it does a real job. Will get another for the lower level of my 800sq’ house lol .yes small but well worth having someone/thing else vacuum for me.

We have mapped the first floor of the house and I love the fact that I can select specific rooms so that if I'm working she can clean the rest of the rooms and not disturb me. We have a second one for the top floor. So far the cleaning has been quite good. I also like the messaging for when she might get stuck or when the bar needs replacing.

Not good with pet hair

The vacuum needs help to empty every time so it can never clean on its own. Would recommend, but not if you have animals

Q: Does this model do wall to wall carpet?  Does it need to have a clear space 3x3x6 ft for the charging station.

  • A: It handles wall to wall just fine, and transitions between w2w and hard surfaces without issue. The space for the charging station is needed since the Roomba can take a few tries to line up on the charging station exactly, so wanders around a bit. You could likely get away with less. Ours is in a 4 ft wide hallway and manages just fine.

Q: Does this have a camera or sensor to clean the full room in passes (similar to cutting grass in straight lines) or does it "pinball" off obstacles and go off in random patterns?

  • A: No camera, but the cleaning pattern seems to be a combination of random and patterned. Once it figures out the limits of the space it’s in, it will “mow the lawn”, but sometimes it seems a bit random. If you just leave it alone to do its thing, it will cover the whole room. Reducing obstacles helps.
