HEX Performance Eco-Friendly Laundry Detergent, 1.5-L

I've been using Hex for a few years, usually on gentle cycle with cold water, for basically all of my laundry... no matter how gross/stinky it is. It works great and the bottle lasts a long time. A lot of other reviewers seem to be whining about the new bottle design. I understand what they're getting at, but I'll still keep buying this stuff. Nothing else really compares.

The new packaging is terrible!!!! Was this even trialed by real people who do laundry?? Please, I love this product. Bring back the old bottle design or come up with a better new one that doesn’t create so much spillage and mess to clean up. I swear by this detergent for my gym clothes. I recommend saving an old bottle to refill.

This is the second bottle I've purchased, and it's the first bottle in this new cylindrical package with the wide hexagonal cap. Look, I get it, from a branding perspective, this new bottle with a hexagonal cap looks cool and is totally on brand, but whomever designed it needs to be replaced, because it was obviously not tested at all during development. While the older bottle wasn't perfect, it was infinitely more usable than this new package. From a practical standpoint, this new bottle has a number of failings: 1) 1.5L of detergent is a fair bit of weight and extremely awkward to hold in a smooth plastic cylindrical bottle with no handle. Imagine trying to one-hand it while holding the cap in your other hand to dispense the detergent into the measuring cap.. which brings me to the next point. 2) Did anyone test this bottle design? Who thought it was a great idea to pour out of a large diameter bottle from a 2cm diameter short spout into a wide base top to try and land the contents into the tiny cup for measuring? I ended up with more detergent running down the sides, all over my hands, onto my counter, and on the floor, than what ended up in the measuring cup! And then no "moat" around the spout to catch the detergent that will inevitably run OUTSIDE of the mouth of the bottle when you screw the cap back on. I expect a very messy outside of the bottle soon enough, so I've just left this bottle of detergent in my sink. Seriously, Hex... test this bottle with a full bottle of contents. I have half a mind to return this, but the detergent is good, so I'm going to keep a 1 Oz shot glass nearby to do my measuring from now on. I almost considered giving this product a 1 star because the packaging is so bad that I lost more detergent than I managed to get into the measuring cap... but from my previous experience of this detergent (in the old packaging), the detergent is good. That is the only redeeming factor, and as such, I'll give it 2 stars only. The value is no longer there, as most of the detergent will get wasted running down the side of the bottle and all over my floor, rather than getting into my washing machine. I wish I didn't throw out the old container already, so that I could transfer the product...

detergent is as good as ever but preferred the old container (measuring detergent into the top of the lid is awkward).
