I bought one of these back in 2016… stained from all the coffee I’ve dropped through it, but a great companion to have camping or in the office!

OK coffeemaker, but so SLOW

I have used both this maker and the ultralight "alpinist" model and feel the alpinist brews a much better cup of coffee much faster. This one hole unit is simply TOO slow, and the requirement of a paper filter makes it less convenient. I note that CGI has a "permanent" filter for this model, which is just a legless alpinist. The permanent filter may make it faster, but the standard alpinist works quickly, has no paper filter, and brews an awesome cup of pour over coffee, and is cheaper - a no brainer.
