Great idea...If only it was functional!

Neat idea, and decently constructed, but there's a reason it's on sale. The fittings are brass which is nice, but the female hose connector coupling at the base is immovable - There's no way to tighten the connection unless you have the time and excellent upper body fitness to flop your hose around the connector.. I wasn't about to do that so I returned it.

    1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: How does this work exactly? Not really a detailed description. In the CT ad it says to attach a hose to the tap and bury the hose line under soil. Won't the water left in the hose freeze and ruin the hose? Underground sprinkler systems have to have the lines blown out before winter, so what about this?

    • A: If it is winter time – we recommend that the rain barrel be drained and turned upside down for freeing weather – this would allow residual water to soak out of hose and avoid any freeing issues.
