Had the cheaper Frandlin one before we moved but it got lost in the shuffle. Figured if i had to buy a new one, id like to try a different one. This one is only a couple bucks more, but i like it alot better. Shows where the stud is, roughly where its edges are, and exactly where its centre is to. Only thing that work make it better is if it could also show eletrical and metal, or if it was long enough to sense two studs at once lol great value for the price, and worth the extra couple bucks.

Q: What is the green light when something found

A: Green LED means it is the center of the stud, or center of the object behind the wall. The packaging refers to it under the section "Accurate". The instructions insert does not mention it (unfortunately), and neither do the PDF instructions at their website (see: https://franklinsensors.com/prosensor-m70/ ) The link I gave above has a video that shows exactly how the product works.

A: No, it will not. It will just measure the density of the Wood wall and will not penetrate past that.
