Basket doesn't fold up on a colorado; It also has a lot of play in the pin hole which holds it in the receiver hitch; must be why it was a store special!

Decent design....not great build quality

I like it so far, but the steel was not well painted (a lot of bare steel showing on edges, top and inside of the tubes) and from judging the inside of the big tube the steel was not descaled and primed prior to painting. For the price it should be powder coated and done well. Also the end of the tube was not capped for some reason and the welds are inconsistent and very small. I think it would not have taken a whole heck of a lot of effort to make this built much better so its unfortunate.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Gets the job done, but needs support straps

Made the trip cross country, so overall I’m happy with it. Max weight rating seemed to be wrong. I had max 300 (max rating is 500), and the first bump I went over on the TCH bent the beam. If you buy it, make sure you use straps to support the basket.

Q: What are dimensions inside the bars (maximum storage footprint)? Eg., if I made a wood box to fit snugly on it, what is max. width and length I can make my box? The posted dimensions do not make sense; width seems to include the hitch bar.
