"Universal" Toilet Flapper

One needs to understand that this product, which is advertised as universal, may not be the right one, even if replacing another Fluidmaster flapper. in my case, this "universal flapper" only worked in the toilet in which it was replacing another Fluidmaster flapper if I also replaced the existing flush lever with a specific style of lever, none of which I found were effective. I ended up wasting a lot of time and money at three different stores before going back to the toilet vendor and purchasing an exact OEM replacement part that fixed the problem. Caveat emptor!

A: Thank you for your question. Here is a general guide line that you can use to determine if a 2 or 3 inch flapper is needed, we suggest measuring your current flappers diameter to find the size you need. If the flapper is 4 inches across then you should be able to use a 3 inch flapper. If your flapper measures 3 inches across then you should be able to use a 2 inch flapper. If you need help with selecting the right flapper, give Fluidmaster a call.
