Sharp peeler

This peeler is solid in your hand. It glides through the peel very well. It’s very sharp. I’m not fond of the design. The top casing over the blade hides where the blade is peeling. You cannot see the area you’re peeling. It will take some getting used to since my old peeler has an open design and I could see where the blade is peeling. The old one I have is 30 years old and still worked well, it just started to rust. I wish manufacturers would just use the design of older models and stop trying to “reinvent” something that works well. Form follows function rather than decorative flair. Designers have forgotten this concept.

It’s no thin peeler

My rating reflects in my opinion a design flaw, the cutting edges are too far apart causing a a fairly thick peel (causing food waste) the design team is perhaps not aware of this or don’t care. When I was a small boy (1942) my grandmother used a similar device, The cutting edges were closer together causing a very thin peel hence its name ”thin peeler “

The weight and balance of this makes it easy to work on peeling vegetables. The blades are very sharp, my wife accidentally cut a finger on her first usage by a simple slip too far. Be careful when getting used to the product.
