Ecobee Smart Thermostat Enhanced, Black

Thermostat works alright but it does not follow the local peak time of use energy schedule. The Ecobee app is registered to my local power company but the peak time of use hours are off for Colorado. My local peak time of use hours are 5pm - 9pm but the thermostat thinks my peak hours are 3pm - 7pm. Unfortunately there is no way to change this :(

I recently had an Ecobee premium installed replacing a ten year old Nest, and I’m so incredibly frustrated and disappointed with it since it lacks quite a few obvious functions that my *ten year old* Nest had. Things it lacks: - Native geofencing setup for “away”: Ecobee+ has “smart away,” but it only activates after two hours of being away, and seemingly it’s based on the (not especially accurate) occupancy sensors. As someone who often comes and goes throughout the day, it’s frustrating that it will almost never switch to away mode. I have an iPhone and was able to work my way through Google Home Settings for a sort of workaround, but it took quite a bit of trial and error. Why can’t the away function allow more customization, like changing the minimum time away before switching to Away mode? - No ability to preset fan runtime: in comfort settings you can seemingly either set the fan to “always on” during a timeframe (like, constant running for 10 hours straight) or “auto” where it only runs while the furnace or ac are a to ely running. Nest allows you to run the fan on demand (and it’s easy to find the feature on both the app and the device), OR to set thresholds like “15 minutes per hour.” Why can’t o control this?? - Numerous settings only accessible in device: I can’t even name which ones, but quite a few controls can only be accessed on the device itself. I don’t just mean things like the wiring, but like the fan controls mentioned above— only on the device. The fact that even the textbox to write this review doesn’t auto fit to a phone screen is a perfect example of the major design flaws from ecobee. Don’t buy it. Don’t do it, get a Nest instead.

Now into our second month, our programable ecobee has been functioning perfectly; even during this week's nationwide winter storm. Particularly like the remote capability, through our "Alexa" units. Great convenience overall.

Very Easy to Setup. We continue to learn something new everyday.

I recommend ecobee to every home, it is easy to use, allows you to have three settings everyday of the week, and view/change your as needed from anywhere. Plus you can setup to save energy.
