30 minutes of use and then failure

I bought this model on Amazon to Upgrade my 15 year old model 200 that lost the high speed. Within 30 minutes of use, on and off, the speed control began acting up and within minutes the speed switch was completely shot. Just a loose switch with no tension. Some upgrade!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: The specifications give a maximum rpm, but I could not find a minimum RPM. The photo seems to show RPM choices. Since this is a variable unit, what would be the other RPMs - particularly the lowest RPM since this is critical with wire brushes. Thank you.

Q: Can I use this tool to drill a hole in quartz? I'm looking to turn some chuncks of quartz into pendants for a necklace, and need to drill a hole into the quartz to fasten a chain loop.

A: You can use the tool, but it is the accessory that does the work. I would suggest to use the 662DR or 663DR drill bits.
