Q: What model of smartstart is this?
3 years agoA: Be careful as my understanding is that 3G is (or soon will) not be supported by the Telco’s …. You will need 4G minimum. So this unit is/will be obsolete.

5 years agoA: This Smartstart is made to work in conjunction with a remote starter and you will also need an DB3 Interface flashed with the proper firmware for this to work.

6 years agoA: It will work as long as you already have a Prostart remote start system installed in your vehicle. If not, you will to get one from your local Canadian Tire store. Q: I got a Mitsubishi RVR 2017 that has no remote starter or push to start but does have a security system. I this device going to work on it with an app and so on or I have to install a remote start system and this device comes as an add on? Thanks!
6 years agoA: The Smart Start system is an add on that’s compatible only to our remote start/security systems. So if smart start is something you’re interested in getting it would need to be tied in with one of our systems.

Q: So does it matter what ProStart product is installed? Does it have a minimum requirement? Or will it work with any version of ProStart starter?
7 years agoA: The Prostart system is compatible to any vehicle however it’s the interface bypass that will depend on the year make and model.
