Q: Can you bend it around a tree or is is just for straight gardens?

A: I wouldn't recommend bending it around a tree as they look more heavy duty in the pics than they actually are and may snap. I have mine around a tree, but in a square. Short answer, really should only be used linear. Note, you will need to make holes in the ground with a screw driver or peg or something - you won't be able to push them right into the ground without breaking them.
