I've used this a few times, with the different plates. I really like it. I love the dials, the ease of use, the easy way the plates come off for cleaning/placing in the dishwasher. And I discovered another simple but very useful feature: With the press of a button, the 2 halves lie flat, giving me two flat frying surfaces, perfect for pancakes or whatever! I'll include a photo of frying tofu (turns out great!), and one picture of the griddle halves lying flat. (Sorry about the dirty surface - I was cooking with it. ) It seems well-constructed. I'm amazed I got it for only $99 (on sale)! Anyway, I highly recommend this griddle.

Q: the top plate does not get as hot as bottom, is this normal? the top plate will heat up but not even close to the bottom e.g. waffles cooked on bottom raw on top. You have to flip the waffle to cook it... is it supposed to be this way? thank you neil

A: This may be a silly question but are you closing the lid? The top needs to close to cook (you can only make 4 waffles at a time). Otherwise, I have found when opened in griddle mode the top plate will not get as hot as the bottom plate but it hasn't made a big difference.

A: Oui très certainement, et c'est la principale raison de mon achat. Je cherchais un gaufrier à multiples usages afin de restreindre le nonbre d'appareil. À l'achat des plaques tu recevras un livre de recettes. Tu peux faire 4 gauffres à la fois, de 2 cm d'épaisseur. À un moment donné, j'ai oublié de mettre un corps gras et à ma grande surprise ça n'a pas collé. Les plaques se nettoient facilement et se rangent dans peu d'espace. C.est un excellent achat.

A: Hi, The design of the plates allows grease to funnel through the grooves towards the back of the plates. There is a drip tray that captures all oil and grease. This tray is removable and dishwasher safe. Thanks
