Excellent Sight - needs occasional recalibration

Great little sight - I added it to a Taurus PT92 that had some awful iron sights and needed some help. It actually tightened up my groups and sped up tac shoot acquisition pretty well. Quality is great, and fit the tac rail on my PT perfectly, though screws were a bit soft, and the finish starting coming off the clamp and screws almost immediately. Unlike some other cheap lasers, the dot doesn't spread at distance, meaning it stays reasonably clean and tight, even up to 70 feet - the furthest I've shot it. Brightness could be better - the mW rating is spec'd on the packaging as <5mW, and I'd guess 2mW at most. However I had no problems seeing the dot clearly in direct sunlight at 70 feet. Has windage and elevation, but don't expect it to stay true on a real firearm for long, as it's designed mostly for airguns and .22s. Will work superbly if that is your intended usage. Mine needed recal on my 9mm after about 200rnds, as it had drifted about 1/4" off true. Also, I found out after I bought this at CT that Walmart sells it for $15 cheaper! Come on CT, 27% of pure profit on top of regular margin? Seriously?

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Any plinker that shoots with airsoft or BB guns knows how much fun it is to consistently hit your target time and time again. This laser Sight bolts onto all standard pellet, BB, AirSoft and 22 caliber weapons that have a 3/8 or 11mm dovetail grove. The windage and hight adjustments are done with a small hex key and once you have it setup for your targeting distance you will have no problem consistently hitting the same spot time after time.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: What is the difference What is the difference between the dovetail and weaver rail mounts.

    1 Answer
    • A: The profile of the two systems is virtually identical. Depending on the quality of the machining done by the manufacturer, the two systems should be indistinguishable from the profile. The key difference lies in the placement of the recoil grooves and with width of the grooves. MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) grooves are .206” wide and have a center-to-center width of .394”. The placement of these grooves has to be consistent in order for it to be a true “Picatinny” MIL-STD system. Weaver systems have a .180” width of recoil groove and are not necessarily consistent in a center-to-center measurement from one groove to the next. In many instances, a Weaver system has a specific application that it is machined for, so interchangeability is not necessarily an issue. A MIL-STD-1913 system must adhere to the specifications listed above in order for it to be considered MIL-STD, since the military desires uniformity in the recoil grooves to allow for different systems to be mounted on the weapon with no concern for compatibility.

Q: would this work with the Desert Eagle CO2 bb gun?

    1 Answer
    • A: The laser sight is a bottom rail weaver mount sight. As we do not know what the Desert Eagle has on it, we cannot say.
