False advertising

The box shows chalk covered in glitter. The actual chalk has like 5 pieces of glitter on the outside and that’s about it. Huge false advertisement. Might as well just be sold as regular chalk. Scam.

Don’t buy, BAD FOR ENVIRONMENT.

Like the other person said, BAD COR THE ENVIRONMENT! We compost our leaves and as I was sweeping them up to put in the bin I found a bunch of this PLASTIC GLITTER in the leaves, therefore in my compost, which I use to grow food. Art for kids shouldn’t be hanging around on this planet longer than them. Very disappointing CRAYOLA! You could easily use a silica or some other natural material instead of plastic!

This product is extremely bad for the environment. To create chalk with glitter in it that washes away into waterways is very irresponsible of this company to do. Stick to the great colours you have Crayola and get rid of this product.

The following list does not apply to licensed products, such as Crayola-brand bath, personal care, or food items, which are manufactured by licensing partners. Please check the back of the packaging for manufacturer details. If the ingredient in question is not included on this list and is due to a medical concern, please contact us at 1-800-CRAYOLA. Casein, eggs & eggshell, fish/shellfish, latex*, milk, nut & nut oil (including tree nuts), peanuts, Red Dye #40, sesame & sesame oil, and whey. *It is possible that latex gloves may have been worn during the manufacture and distribution of raw materials, components or finished goods.

A: Denny here! Although my pack does not make product or product packaging claims regarding biodegradability, Crayola art materials are not harmful to the environment. To ensure this we have all of our formulas reviewed by a toxicologist to make sure they are safe, meet the standards of the Art & Creative Materials Institute, and comply with government regulations and standards, relevant to their intended use.
