Meh

Works as intended but the side holder is awkward to use - there is no spring to hold the battery in and they slide around.

Good for the price. Always test batteries yourself as some people will offer to test them for you in companies and say they don't work in order to get free batteries from you.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: Can CR2025 or CR2032 batteries be tested on this device

4 Answers
  • A: Not clear if it does. Using the bulb testing circle only shorts out the circuit that tests bulbs and results in a good reading for some reason (testing a nickel has the same results) Using the 1.5 battery slide test also shows a good reading due to the fact the button battery is usually 3 volts not 1.5. I tested 3 button batteries that were half dead and each showed a high good reading on the scale when using the slide tester. However the display shows a scale for "Button Batt" (2nd from top) but the device does not show how to test them. I think Can Tire should check with their supplier to clear this up as it is not the customers who should be doing this research.

Q: Does it work with mini Christmas tree light bulbs?

2 Answers
  • A: Yes. Touch one wire to the bulb tester side contact and one wire to one of the bottom contacts. First you have to remove the 9 volt battery, take the plastic wrap off of it and plug it in. Try to twist the connector up out of the compartment to make it easier to plug the battery in.

Q: Does not appear to enable modern type auto (flat) fuses. Only the old fashion round ones from the 60's 70's and 80's

  • A: Yes, that’s exactly what it does! It tests all the regular size alkaline batteries used in a household and I wish I had purchased one years ago—it works very well. No more guessing how much juice might be left in all those leftover batteries. It clearly indicates what type of batteries it does test. Do some research to find what you are specifically looking for in the automotive realm.

Q: Hi, I just bought a CEBT Dash six tester. Why does it need to be plugged into a 9 V battery as it seems to test fine without any battery hooked up to the unit itself. There’s also another door opening on the front at the bottom. What is that for?

1 Answer
  • A: The device needs the 9-volt battery only for testing light bulbs and fuses. It is not needed for the testing of batteries.

Q: Alkaline only? The package says it's for Alkaline batteries. Does this mean it can't be used for NiMH, NiCad or other types?

1 Answer
  • A: This tester is used to test the battery with standard voltage of 1.5V. If the NIMH or NiCad’s or others’ standard voltage is 1.5V, consumer can use this tester to test the battery.
