Lawnmower is great, batteries not so good

The batteries don't seem to hold a charge... ok to use them as soon as they come off the charger but it you let them sit in the lawnmower, they discharge. A bit of surprise as I went to cut the lawn and batteries are dead though I charged them after I cut the grass last week. I put the charged batteries back into the lawnmower ready to go after charging and they have discharged while sitting in the mower.

This is a great lawnmower, grass trimmer and blower. The lawnmower has a lot of power. Easy to use, light weight. The grass trimmer is smaller, light weight and great to use in large and small spaces. Blower has good power and again easy to use and light.

Q: The lawnmower stopped after approximately 30 minutes of mowing, and the battery still shows green - my question is how do I know if the battery is dead or needs recharging when the light still shows green. What is the problem and how do I deal with this?
