Q: Can you use this telescope just to see the moon and planets and not bother to download the software it comes with?

    • A: Thank you so much JoAnne. Nice to know I do not need to download anything. We are older and just want to look up to the clear sky and see what we can see. For the price of $99 on sale from $239 it was a very good deal,.. Maybe in time I will check how to download the maps or whatever it comes with and see. I appreciate your reply and thank you so much,...you also enjoy your telescope ok,..thanks,...Lolitta

Q: Can a purchase a power-fuller lens stronger the 20mm for this model? Cause I have a 10mm & 20mm Want to see farther nd closer at moon etch..

    • A: For lunar observations pick up a 2x or 3x Barlow lens to go with your 20mm eyepiece. Your 900mm telescope tube divided by 20mm gives you 45x power viewing.Using a 3x Barlow takes the magnifying power up to 135x. Better yet, get a 'glass' eyepiece like a Kellner, Ortho, or wide angle Erfle and dump the plastic eyepieces. This scope is great for planetary and lunar observing even in the city. Eyepieces come in a variety of sizes like 4mm,6mm,9mm,12mm,18mm,25mm...etc... with the larger numbers giving you a wider field for your eye. Divide the tube length by the eyepiece to give you the power of magnification.
