Table finish cracking and chipping

The fire works great, however the table surface is deteriorating rapidly despite using the protective cover whenever it is not in use. The grey finish is flaking revealing white underneath with some large cracks and pieces falling out.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent Firepit

I absolutely love this firepit. I have shopped for two years now looking for the perfect one. I wanted a round one for space considerations and one that was not very high so you get the heat at the right level when sitting down. There is no room to put the tank under the fire table unfortunately due to the height but this is a price I'm willing to pay. The hose is quite long, so you can put the tank out of sight. This is a good compromise. As other reviewers said, the firepit works literally right out of the box and is beautiful. Looks like you can change out the rocks (when they get dirty or for prettier ones) and there is a cover that you can use for protection and also make it into a coffee table when not using the fire. I would recommend this product.

FIRE TABLE

We like this fire table so much we are buying a second one for our place at the lake. It is the perfect height for even heat, great to put your feet up on and there's lots of room for mugs of hot chocolate. We have replaced our outdoor coffee tables with this heater. It was easy to assemble and the controls work great.

Q: Can this be used on a wood deck? This same question has been asked and conflicting answers were given. Also, can it be used outdoors during winter months and colder temperatures, as long as it is brought inside after use?

A: It is perfectly safe to put the unit on a real wooden deck, however, we do not recommend that the unit be placed on a composite wooden deck. If you would like, as an added safety precaution, you may place a heat resistant mat underneath the unit, or most hardware stores will also carry heat resistant tile. Enjoying this unit during the winter months is recommended! We simply advise that you store it indoors during freezing temperatures and harsh weather conditions.
