The CANVAS Horizon Modular Pergola Pull-Down Shade is compatible with the CANVAS Horizon Modular Pergola Base Kit (CT# 188-0240, sold separately). This pergola shade is designed to keep you and your guests comfortable and protected, with a highly breathable and UV resistant polyethylene construction. The shade canopy includes a hand crank mechanism for easy adjustment, as well as toggles to anchor the shade in the desired position. To add to their versatility, these pergola shades are designed to easily attach without drilling.

Pergola Sides

We've been using this pull down shade for a couple of summers. One of the toggles that holds the shade in place has snapped - where can we purchase more?

Hans is right, it does roll up unequally. simple fix to this is to unroll completely, add 2 layers of hockey tape to the steel roll drum on the side that rolls slower. this effectively increases the diameter of the roller. easy peasy fix to make it roll straighter.

Great design but a couple of misses

We bought two. I like the material which is pretty sturdy and a nice black/charcoal. It does not stop rain but it has ties to hold it from the wind. We found two issues: the first is that it rolls unevenly so after one day it already needs adjusting. I assume I will need to unroll all the way and reroll perfectly straight. The second is that one of the shades is missing hardware so we have to trek across town again and return it for another. Makes you wonder about quality control.

Q: Can this shade be left out all year around in snow/ice climates?

A: Dear VanessaAlex, thank you for your question. Although this pergola is weather-resistant, it is not weather-proof. If it is left outside throughout all the seasons, it can take a beating that can cause it to wither away. In order to protect your investment, we suggest using a winter cover or strong tarp for strong winter weather, so that freezing or extreme wet conditions would not cause the pergola to lose its durability over time.
