Sturdy Blow Out Plug

Nice, strong fitting. Exactly what you need for airing out your RV lines. Recommend using plumbers tape for certain RV's where the thread is not exactly sound. Standard fitting for air compressor lines. Recommend to have one on hand in the home and in the RV.

  • A: We would recommend that you use a standard ¼” Industrial shape sleeve lock hose socket. Please note that connections to LP hoses and similar are not recommened.

Q: Do you connect the air compressor first, then open the taps to blow them out?

1 Answer
  • A: The first step to blowing out lines in an RV is to disconnect the water source. Once complete, bypass the hot water heater using a bypass kit, or disconnect it altogether (to avoid any damage – but you will need to drain the hot water heater as well). Next, open all taps, valves, and flush toilets to drain as much water as possible from the system. Once drained, you are ready to use the Blow Out Plug. Secure it to the fresh water intake on the exterior of the vehicle, connect the compressor connection and them apply pressurized air to the system from the compressor. Water will continue to drain from open taps/valves as air pushes remaining water through the system.
