Inexpensive, Weak Spring

I brought in an old scope I was given, because it Un-Zeroed on a .22 after 10 rounds.
You could not zero it on a .308 or 5.56. I put it on a Red Ryder!
It had no caps. I've taken it out this winter with Butler Creek caps.
They're pretty good for an inexpensive cap.
I wish the front lense had a button like the eye lense. Or the little opening tab was in the center. It would put even tension on the spring making it last longer.
It feels like a cheap spring. It will lose it's tension over time. The "snap" on the cap is a bit weak. But hey, it's not expensive. Keeps my scope from fogging/condensing.
My main gripe is that they fit. They are certainly the right size. But they still rotate, my muscle memory for flicking the tab. I find it's rotated and I have to adjust it back into place. (It's not near coming off, simply rotated) I am crouching and moving through trees. After walking with it in a case, to an area it is legal to use the Air-Rifle. It's not a deal breaker. I might use something, even strips of paper to make the fit slightly more snug.
The spring does not look rust proof, though the package says it is waterproof. I'm going to oil that.
