    Good Price

Price was very good. A bit difficult to set up. Their system went haywire the other day and sent me 32 text messages that the system had switched to battery even though there was nothing wrong with my system.

    Water alert

So far so good. Ran several tests and received both text and email alerts for high water. It was a very easy install. We'll see what happens after the one year of free alerts. This was a very good deal at 80% off so I had really nothing to lose. If it alerts me to sump pump failure just once then it's money well spent.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Scam

Bought this product. Upon opening it discovered that after one year there is an on going fee on order for it to keep working. Beware there is no mention of this on the box.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Great Piece of mind for the homeowner

This product is a great piece of mind for the homeowner. The WIFI water flood watcher is there for you when you are not. It sends text/email messages letting you know when water has passed a preset level. it also let you know when you might be vulnerable such as power failure or modem disconnection. either way, this product allows the homeowner to immediately react to unfavorable circumstances and reduces the risk of flooding. It's an insurance every homeowner should have.

    Questions

    1 - 7 of 7 Questions

Q: Can this be used for email only and not text message, so one doesn’t have to pay the yearly fee.

    1 Answer
    • A: Yes, it can send emails only. But this unit has been designed to send emails and text messages. The server which control the unit has also been designed to send both. For this reason, the operation cost are the same either if you choose emails only. However, the yearly fee are not very expansive. Please call our customer service desk at 1.800.361.1820 for details.

Q: If we go away, Will this work on the basement floor to detect any kind of leak?

    1 Answer
    • A: This product has been designed to validate the water level in a tank like a sump or sewage basin and to send alerts if the water level is reaching the maximum set by the float switch included with the unit. However, it does not have a water sensor to detect a leak on the floor like water dropping from a machine washable or a dishwasher. So, it will alert you before your sump or sewage pit overflows .

Q: If the float is connected to the unit, can the unit be kept outdoors (but protected from rain and snow)? I.e on a covered porch

    1 Answer
    • A: Erikl, this unit has been designed to be use indoor. Since the float is also designed to monitor a liquid level, in wintertime, water is freezing and the float will not do its job. However, if the float is in a container that does not freeze, you can use an extension cord to lengthen the float cord. It is a regular 1/8'' 2 conductor cord where extensions are available at all electronic supply stores. This would allow you to bring the unit inside while keeping the float ourdoors.

Q: Does there need to be power supplied to the float switch? Will this work in a concrete septic tank?

    1 Answer
    • A: The float switch is connected to the unit itself and the unit has a battery inside so it can continue to operate during a power failure so it is totally self-sufficient. However, since it is connected to the home router to send the signal to the internet, your router will need to be connected to a power pack to maintain its connection to your internet provider in case of power failure.

Q: Hi Will this work in a septic tank which is about 30 feet from the house

    1 Answer
    • A: It will work if your WiFi signal is available at this distance. Based on our experience, your signal should be enough strong at this distance. To test, verify with your phone if you have a WiFi signal at 50' from your house.
