Q: Do new rotors require turning prior to installation?

3 Answers

A: New rotors should be good right out from the box. Unless it is bad already from the manufacture. Don't install but get exchange and refunded instead. Majorities rotors for new cars can't be turned because it is designed thinner to save weight and fuel. Most were use once and trash when problems arise. Turning a used rotor is like living on thin ice.

Q: Do the grooves wear out the pads faster? I was reading that grooves shave off more of the pad than blanks do. Does ATE's technology design address this point? or is it true?
