Pex or not Pex?

The salesperson sold this piping to me as Pex. After installation, it was leaking at all joints except at the Pex I had left over from another supplier. I reinstalled using Pex from another supplier with no leaking. Elbows and unions were also bought at the same Canadian Tire.
