Product Details

The Bosch PL1682 planer features a powerful 6.0 Amp motor producing 16,500 RPM making it ideal for fast stock removal leaving a smooth finish. This planer is ideal for trimming doors. The electronically-counterbalanced single-blade system automatically positions the blade at the ideal cutting angle, and it eliminates uneven planing caused by misaligned blades. The planer comes with a guide fence that can be mounted to either side of the tool. It also includes a large chip bag.

    First Bosch tool I have owned. The belt slipped off and burned the housing first time I used it, wouldn't stay on. Had to send it in for service. will never buy Bosch again.

    This is my first planer and it works like a charm. I use it to smooth bowl-blanks after I cut the log lengthwise with my chain saw.

    Bought this for a specific project (a wide lamination) and it worked great. I've used a similar Makita in the past and after having used that I knew I needed a power planer in my tool collection. Usual Bosch quality. No problems there. The single blade design works well and replacements are cheap. Ding a blade? No problem. They are as cheap as sandpaper. I did have some difficulty with softwood ejecting on its own. It'd be nice if an adapter wasn't required to hook up your average shopvac (or it was included). Had I known I would have purchased one at the same time.
