A worthwhile purchase

When scuffed up my nice new black gloss aluminum rims parking too close to the curb one day I literally felt sick to my stomach! Then I found this product. The first coat covered up the scratches well enough that nobody would notice unless they looked up close. But I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I went over the touch up with some wet 2000 grit to smooth out the touch-up, then applied another coat (also touched up a few small dings and scratches I hadn't noticed before while I was at it), and after it cured I hit it with a few coats of polish. Now even I can barely tell there were ever any scratches at all, even in direct sunlight. I will say that the sanding block that comes in the kit is way too coarse. I would suggest to either not use it at all and use your own lighter grit (like 1500), or use it _very_sparingly_. Either way before you even start, be sure to tape off everything else in the vicinity of your working area. DO NOT SKIMP ON THE TAPE! In fact over-taping is best - it's way too easy to accidentally add scratches to your wheels when sanding, making even more work for yourself in the end.

Was easy to use. I took my time prepping the areas on the rims. Pleasantly surprised at how the new paint matched the original paint. Gloss black is normally a tough color to match. See how it lasts. I painted the winter rims before I stored them for the summer.

Everything Included Repair Kit

After years looking at a major scratch the previous owner made to the rim I finally got the materials to fix it. This kit came with all the materials needed to repair the scratch: masking tape, sanding block, alcohol cleaning cloth and of course the paint. Only thing I needed was a rag to wipe off before I started. I was very pleased with the result. The rim is 14 years old and when I finished you cannot tell there was any damage unless you look closely. It took less than an hour to repair the scratch.
