Overall I am happy with this iron. It is lightweight, the water level is easy to see, the temp dial is well-placed and easy to turn. On the other hand, the cord could be longer and a heavier iron would be more stable on its heel, but for $25 it is a good deal.

Q: Does the iron shut off when not in use?

However, this only means that the heating element turns off after the iron has not been used for a certain length of time.
