I bought the axe handle a week or so ago and have not yet fit the old axehead to it. I did find the new handle much wider on the handle portion than the old which I’m not a great fan of. I often use the axe with only one hand and a large handle makes that difficult. Anyway the jury is still out on how easy it will be to put the old axehead on the new handle and how well it will handle. Therefore a rating of only 3 for the moment. N

Q: Can this be used for a yardwork maul/ splitter. Got to replace the handle on one, but its unclear if this is a suitable replacement.

Q: Does this replacement axe handle include wedges or do I have to purchase the wedges separately?

  • A: There is 1 piece of timber wedge and 2 pieces of metal wedges, as well as replacement instruction sheet attached on the handle.

Q: What are the sizes? I have the jobmate boys axe and I need something close to 28" made from hickory.
