Cloud fees not on store ad

Seeing the item on clearance looked great, no mention of monthly cloud fees so i bought it
On the box it clearly says there are cloud fees which come out to 120$ plus tax per year.
So I returned it
Arlo has one of the most expensive cloud fees, Ring is $60 for basic package
I bought a Canadian made lorex doorbell with SD card, no fees for basic service

Best video doorbell

I have had this video doorbell for 3 years now and has been flawless. After having had two other types of doorbells this has been by far the best . The only drawback is the yearly subscription, beeing quite expensive. I now purchased another one for a spare .

Showed up in an open box - sold as new - SHAME

Showed up as an opened box. I ordered what I thought was a new product. This happened 4 times with CT now. I'm done. Will never shop there again.

was disappointed to discover that the doorbell camera required a lifetime paid subscription to view the recordings. This crucial detail was not mentioned on the packaging. Having refused to commit to a subscription, I found an alternative that came with an SD card, allowing me to store the videos at no additional cost. I highly recommend avoiding subscription models to maintain your independence.

Q: Does this door bell require a subscription for video storage?

A: We have it connected thru an arlo hub and the hub has a memory card to record locally but inorder to view the recordings we have to put the memory card in a computer. The only other way to view the recordings is with a subscription.
