Waited 24 hours after use, then put in the shock treatment, and the pool turned from deep dark brown to a nice clean blue in no time. Thumbs up.

Removes grease

I can't comment on how this works for opening a pool. I used it to remove a thick layer of black grease left around the waterline of my pool after a delayed equipment replacement and 4 weeks without filtration. Nothing else would touch it, not even vinyl pool liner cleaner. This is highly concentrated degreaser, I only used maybe 1/8 of the bottle, undiluted on a wet dish scrubby sponge, then rinsed. Looks like new.

I don't recommend this product. Using makes your pump filter very dirty and therfore makes you have change it too frequently

Q: can you use the degreaser in closing an above ground pool? if yes what ratio.

  • A: I have never used it to close, it was never any reason because my pool is usually very clean at closing time. I  predominantly use it in the spring to release all the gunk that sticks to the side of the walls over the winter. I have a 27 foot round pool, 60,000 L of water and I use the whole jug after I’ve cleaned the pool, I feel it right to the very top and add the degreaser. Let it circulate for 24 hours then clean again. Hope this helps.

  • A: Hi, no please use the Aquarius Filter Cleaner if you want to clean your filter. Product code: 081-3748-0 The degreaser can be used when opening or closing the pool. It acts as an algeacide, clarifier and an enzyme product to clean liner. Thank you
