Anka foot valve sock paid for itself in one month

Awesome product. We live at a lake and treat the water with a UV system that requires a 5 micron filter. The lake water is visually clear but during the turbulent waters of summer, filters can last anywhere from 12 hours up to 1.5 weeks. After installing the sock, a new filter lasted over 4 weeks. I inspected the sock after 6 weeks and it was still relatively clean. It may be a bit self cleaning with some natural water movement.

Ease of use. How well it works.

Have used this for the last 4 years on our water intake hose at the lake. Our cabin is seasonal, so it is only on the foot valve for about 4 or 5 months. The sock removes particulate matter quite well. It is easy to install. At the end of the season it is heavily saturated with particulate. In our application, the socks works great. For a longer application, it might work well if the water source is pretty clear to begin with.

Foot valve sock

I pump water from our lake for everything but drinking. I put this over the foot valve to keep the larger particles from getting to the pump filters, it works really well, I change it every year but could go longer.

Keeps the slime at bay!

Kept the sock on over the winter. Come spring everything around the sock was covered in slime. But the valve itself was as clean as a whistle. Easy to install and remove.
