The American Standard Flash Shower Rough-In Valve offers leak-free installation with universal inlets and outlets. The valve’s durable cast brass body is ideal for prolonged water contact, while its flat back is designed to mount flush to cross braces for a solid fit. Installers can test and flush the valve body before inserting the cartridge thanks to the included test cap. Retaining rings with flats secure the cap and cartridge without screws to enable quick changes. With its universal connections, this American Standard valve enables simple, adaptable installation for reliable shower performance.

  • The American Standard Flash Shower Rough-In Valve reduces leak points and connects via Universal (male thread/female sweat), PEX Crimp, PEX Cold expansion, CPVC, and Stub-outs

  • Cast Brass Valve Body: Durable. Ideal material for prolonged contact with water

  • Flat Back: Allows valve to be mounted flush against cross brace for easy and solid installation

  • Test Cap: Allows valve body to be tested and flushed without the presence of the valve cartridge. Can be tested using test cap with air (200 PSI) or water (300 PSI)

  • Stainless Steel Retaining Ring with Flats: Secures test cap/ cartridge in place and eliminates need for screws. Flats make it simple to loosen ring for quick, easy insertion/removal of test cap/cartridge

Good function, but packaging needs some work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This valve works well when paired with my Edgemere Trim kit. Installation was made more difficult in that the plastic wall guide was damaged in shipping. The ceramic valve works smoothly, with no "flex" at the stop. Definitely a quality build and will likely last for some time.

Quick and easy install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this brass body makes it feel like excellent quality. The install was easy to do and wasnt confusing, pretty simple setup but works like a dream conoared to the one i had in there before. The test worked well so i moved to install my trim.

Rough in Valve Greatness
