Q: Is this thing supposed to stay activated when the button is not being pressed? Mine was leaning in a corner, light off, button not pressed and it zapped a small fly. Is it defective?

A: Mine does the same. I don't think it's actually powered on but still may have charge on it. Try rubbing your feet in socks on carpet flooring; you can still zap another person by touching without continuously recharging your statically charged body. I had a previous different brand tool that did not do this but it also discharged my batteries really fast so i am more than happy to live with this "feature" (i.e. seems efficient t holding its charge) albeit just a bit annoying :)

Q: Does it work for fruit flies? As they are too light

A: Technically this product would also work for fruit flies, but there is less of a chance of contact with the racket due to their small size. If you have a fruit fly problem, we would suggest using 059-9340 (Catchmaster Fruit Fly Trap) or 059-8873 (Terro Fruit Fly Trap). Both would be more effective means of controlling Fruit Flies.

A: This product is not intended for use on Bees. We suggest that it is not used to kill beneficial insects, such as bees. This product will kill wasps, which are more commonly associated with a “pest” bee.
