    Q: Is this the same as what is referenced to as an "O" ring that prevents oil from dripping out from the bottom of the oil tank?

These seals come in hundreds of sizes for specific applications; we likely have something that will work for your oil tank, but it would be best to bring your old seal, vehicle info (year/make/model) or the dimensions you need, to your local store so they can try to match up something that will work.
