It doesn't hold up 2 oz much less pounds. Can't separate the cover from the sticky side. Don't buy

Sticks well even to the red backing.

I am on the fence with this product. This does adhere two things together very well if one allows a day or two for it to set up first. It is no good to put a load on it too soon.
Another issue is the difficulty to remove the red backing, which can be frustrating as the whole piece of tape will peel up attempting to remove the backing. I have found using the point of a utility knife, stabbing the red tape (just barely) near an edge and tugging up can separate the tape from the backing. Sometimes it works quickly and other times it takes a dozen tries.
I suppose I recommend it mainly because there are few alternatives.

Not great on plastic.

Did not meet expectation. I was using to hold small fender piece to metal bodybon car but the part to plastic could not hold. The metal part stuck well. I guess it is not good on plasric surface.

Not so good for my application.

I bought this to attach a small dash cam on my front window. I thought that it would work as it is rated for 30 lbs and the camera weighs only a few ounces. What I failed to take into account was the heat in direct sunlight. After only a week, my camera was pointing at my feet. This tape may be good for other applications, but it does not work in direct sunlight.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Strong hold and versatile uses.

I've now used this tape for three projects. If the surfaces you intend to stick together are clean (especially make sure you are completely free of silicone sealer residue, dust, loose or aging paint, aged wood, or similar) then this tape will stick and hold very well. It does not adhere to surfaces that are of questionable soundness and it won't stick to silicone sealer residue AT ALL, EVER. I just mounted some polycarbonate windows to a fiberglass boat, and the initial adhesion appears to be very good. In my case I'll secure the pieces in place with intermittent screws to minimize potential gaps as the materials flex in the heat/cold. For two earlier small projects, like holding my radio receiver in my truck's cup holder, and for holding some foam blocks in place to protect heads from hitting screw ends, the material appears to be working as well as expected. Two things I concur with from other reviews are that the backing is hard to handle and the material seems unreasonably expensive. Overall, this is a good choice for bonding materials, just make you choose the materials and prep them properly.

A: To mount up to 5 pounds, you would have to cover the back surface of the object you are trying to mount. Here are the instructions: Steps: • Make light pencil lines on the wall at key points around object to be mounted. • Cut lengths needed from roll. Do not remove liner until last step. • Press tape into position on back of object to be mounted. Press firmly on liner for good adhesive contact. • Remove liner and press firmly into place on wall.

A: This is a permanent tape that may cause damage if removed. If you must remove the mounted object, use a piece of dental floss or wire, held tautly between two hands. Pull back and forth, to split the tape, and release the mounted object. *Not recommended for use on wallpaper or delicate surfaces*
