Don't bother with this format - stick with the old pads and butane

The new "cartridge" format of the product is not nearly as good or effective as the older pads and butane bottles. I have 4 of the new style in my backyard and still get bites. On the older style using the pads, I only had 2 of them and never got bitten ever. Avoid this format and stick with the older one as I find this format to be WAY less effective, to the point that I don't think this even works.

Great value. It was worth biting the bullet for the up-front cost of a season's worth to get the lower price. I already know that the Thermocell works. I appreciate that the current version in that there is less wastage compared to candle based units where you are uncertain of the remaining hours. The visible level of the fluid is a big improvement, as well as the lights indicating when power is out. Packs easier for trips as well compared to lantern designs.
