Too flimsy and does not siphon

This thing is so flimsy it's an embarrassment.
Having used these type devices in the far past with success and being familiar with siphons I feel qualified to review this product. It is built wrong, the drainage house needs to be longer so that the difference in height can establish the siphon. This one is not constructed well enough to establish a siphon regardless, it will always have too much air in the mechanism to allow the siphon to get going. This is a massively inferior version of products I've used in the past that even at that time were considered of suspect quality.

This product is so light weight and inexpensive it is almost disposable. I needed some way of getting oil into the differential in my Honda CRV AWD. This worked like a charm. It is not a syphon. It is a pump. Don't know if its worth storing for the next job but hate disposables so will try to hang onto it.

May be okay for water but I used it for diesel. Very thin material, flimsy, two air leak kept breaking the vacuum. Used for diesel just once then gave up, wasted money will not buy again.

Works very well

I use it to move water quickly from a bulk container to a jug when we go camping. Works every time with good flow even with a low head. Why are so many folk are struggling with this thing ? Just make sure the little valve on top is completely closed or you'll be pumping air. It probably won't work with heavy oils but that's not what it's designed for. Cheap construction but does the job.
