Manufacturing defect with bottle

See pictures. Old bottle and pump on left, new bottle and pump on the right. Notice how the new pump does not go down into the bottle. Why? The new bottle has a ridge on the inside which prevents the it from going down far enough. This is an exact replacement for a 25 year old version of the same pump assembly. The old bottle does not have the ridge on the inside, the new bottle has a ridge on the inside of the bottle which prevents proper installation/functioning of the unit. Purchased this through an authorized retailer and it was delivered in a sealed Delta box.

No, I do not recommend this product.
